As you welcome your precious baby girl to the world and into your life, we celebrate this new season alongside you and send you our deepest congratulations on your bundle of joy. Capturing the first year of her life is a lovely way to pause time and savor each sweet moment together. We have put together a guide to help you prepare for photographing each milestone.
Whether you are a pro at this whole new baby adventure or she is your first step into this season of motherhood, we’ve put together a guide to help you navigate the wardrobe changes and expectations of photographing your baby girl. But not to worry, our experienced photography team is ready to help you every step of the way!
Milestone: One Month Old
This session is all about baby’s connection with mama. It’s sleepy time and snuggles and baby kisses all day every day.
Wardrobe Inspiration: Consider bringing snuggly blankets, wraps, fitted hats, and/or booties. We do a lot of "naked baby" at this age. A plain long sleeve black or white shirt for mom and dad is recommended to assist in posing.
Milestone: Three Months Old
Documenting this season of life focuses on smiles and tummy time!
Wardrobe Inspiration: Lying on their back finding their toes make this a great time to enjoy baby’s perfect skin with colorful diaper covers, blankets & booties. Cute outfits look best when Mom or Dad are holding baby in the photograph.
Milestone: Six Months Old
At this portrait session, it’s all about letting your baby show off their skills in sitting unassisted, smiling all the way.
Wardrobe Inspiration: Bring lovies or stuffies that personalize the session and make it fun for your child to interact.
Milestone: Nine Months Old
This is when baby’s personality starts to shine even brighter! We love the grins and laughs and expressions that come at this age.
Wardrobe Inspiration: Include fun hats, and layered outfits with lots of color or solid white for striking images of your child while they interact and play on camera.
Milestone: One Year Old
Oh my goodness, your baby’s not a baby anymore! *cue happy tears*
Wardrobe Inspiration: Consider a cake smash as a fabulous way to celebrate, or bring other “party inspired” props such as balloons, banners, birthday crowns, etc.
We have photographed this sweet baby girl since she was a bump in her mama’s tummy, and getting to watch her grow has been seriously such a joy! We have photographed her family for the last decade (someone tell time to slow down) and to say we are excited to grow up with this sweetheart would be an understatement.
