Summer Styling Tips for Guys

Fellas, it’s time for your Summer Senior Portraits. Now I know what you are thinking, ”I don’t even know what I want to wear for ONE outfit, much less FOUR. How do I even dress up in the Summer?” And don’t worry, you’re not alone. But before you panic - take a deep breathe, pop a chill pill, and let us offer you some of our favorite Summer Styling Tips for guys.

Light layers:

Dressing for the season means breathable fabrics for layering. Consider temperature appropriate fabrics for summertime when planning your outfits. Cotten, linen and synthetics options are lifesavers in the heat. One of our favorite summer looks is a lightweight breathable blazer with tailored trousers - it’s a classic stylish look that will always get 5 stars from our team!

Poppy prints and casual colors:

Summertime is bright and fun, and we’d encourage you to let your wardrobe reflect that! Bright neutrals are key. Khaki, white, navy and gray are good bases that can be anchors for the rest of your outfit. Button down shirts are a fun and classy way to play with prints, and patterned short sleeves are always a move.

Picking the perfect length:

Chino shorts are a summer closet staple; they can be dressed up or down, and they come in enough colors to match everyone’s style. A guideline for all shorts is to avoid overly baggy or long options, opting for a classic length above the knee. If you are looking for a trendy option, a shorter inseam (7in and 5in) is easy way to step up your style. And when looking to wear full length pants, adding a cuff at the ankle can take you to a cool, breezy summer look.

Accessorize for the season:

Sun’s out; sunnies out! Sunglasses can be more than a necessity - a nice pair can shape your face and add a unique accessory to your look. Don’t forget to pack your favorite watch, bracelets, necklace and rings to elevate your wardrobe. Bonus points if you remember to pack your no show socks for pairing with your low top shoes!

Guys, summer is your season!
