FAQ: What Should I Bring to My Family Portrait Session?

One of our most commonly asked questions around family portraits is “what should I bring for my families session” and “how do we prepare?”. Not to worry, we have a list of everything you need to feel perfectly prepared for you family session.

Comfy equals confidence. Beauty starts on the inside, you look your best when you feel your best. Keeping this in mind when choosing your families wardrobe will help to keep them comfy; while also looking their best. Touch ups and treats. These are small essential items that will assist in making your family look and feel their absolute best all shoot long. A comb to help with those pesky fly aways, back up lip gloss for a mid session touch up or any item you deem necessary. For the littles, a favorite toy or soothing item helps keep the peace during shoots. Snacks are lifesavers with the kiddos, a fruit snack or little treat is always great to have on hand. Pets need some extra equipment too, treats, grooming tools and a leash or collar. Anything that you think your pet will need to photograph their best.

Family fun. You are creating lifelong memories with you family, let yourself enjoy the time. Think of a family session as another opportunity to spend time together, resulting in lasting reminder of your loved ones every time you see your wall portrait or open your art book. We get it… photoshoots are not everyone’s cup of tea, but we are experts at turning photoshoots into experiences that your entire family will enjoy!
