BIG Family shoot in the Snow at Snoqualmie Pass

Wishing you a Merry Christmas and sharing that our BIG Family shoot in the snow did finally happen… just barely but it freaking happened. Read on for details and epic fails…

Like you, I see the perfect Pinterest family pictures and I mistakenly think that it’s all magically going to happen for our family of sixteen. If I thought last year’s “Let’s all wear white” 2017 theme made my entire family annoyed - it was NOTHING compared to the “Yep, we’re driving to the snow and I don’t exactly know where we’ll find it” plan of 2018. Throw in a broken camera remote control, running out of gas and rapidly dropping sun for the win. Falalala. But then something turned the tide. After 40 minutes of tumbleweeds… there was FINALLY snow to be found at Snoqualmie Pass. And just like a well timed Christmas miracle… this happened.

My Dad spontaneously lays the biggest kiss on my Mom (yes… it was totally unprompted and followed by huge cheers from everyone)

My son served up the sweetest smile (instead of the crazy-I’m-five grin that I’ve been getting all year. He was freezing and I’m pretty sure the sincere joy is actually him being able to feel his fingers again.

Do I even need to explain my spouse?

…Or my sister’s husband.

My sisters family that is impossibly photogenic nailed the “let’s walk in the snow” portion of the event but dropped the ball a bit on “throwing snow.”

At one point, I heard my nephew say “Um, maybe throwing snow just isn’t our thing”

Okay, so my niece Ava is in fact Pinterest perfection.

And with another blessed year under our belts, We wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
