Don't know how it happened but at some point, our Senior Pictures promo shoot began to look like an episode of the Bachelor.  Let me explain.  Senior Pictures in Seattle is a big deal! Since Studio B Portraits is celebrating our 10 Year Anniversary... we wanted to take our Class of 2017 Summer Advertising Campaign to the next level with this huge Vanity Fair Magazine styled photo shoot at the Triple XXX Drive In. The goal was really simple -- when someone asks "Where should I go for the Best Senior Pictures in Seattle" -- we just wanted Studio B to be part of the conversation.

We're one of the very few studios that photographs as many guys as we do girls for senior pictures so it was important that our model team prominently represent for the fellas but with 3 gentlemen and 15 ladies on this shoot...it quickly became clear that maybe we could start handing out roses for a new "teen version" of the popular ABC show. :-)  Kidding -- there was absolutely NO drama and zero tears... just fun all the way around. The models were such good sports as I paired them up as a "faux couple" only to break them up and re-couple again.  My guess is that their social media accounts are going to be very confusing for their friends, heehee) But the pictures were amazing so here we go! In addition to the shoot, we also interviewed the Class of 2017 models and created this super cool, extended version of our behind the scenes coverage from the shoot.

To see MORE senior pictures you can check out our SENIOR PORTFOLIO or to schedule SENIOR PICTURES for Summer just CONTACT US.  We have a ton of new posts on our Instagram and Facebook accounts each day, so please get social with us...we'd love to hear from you!

Sammamish Family Portraits for Pine Lake Family Dentistry

Once a year American Express reminds all of us to "shop local" and remember small business right? Well I wanted to give another great example of how some people are doing this all year round.  Dr. Susan Chen owns Pine Lake Family Dentistry up on the Sammamish Plateau.  She wanted to thank her favorite patients for supporting her business and incorporate these real families into her practice.    Dr. Chen gifted a family experience at Studio B Portraits to patients and one of those special families is the Vaughan's.  They are SO incredibly awesome.  I swear I didn't stop smiling the entire photo shoot.  The thing that was SO cool about the Vaughans is what they said after the shoot -- they were so incredibly appreciative for the "time together as a family" -- Mom Aimee shared that as the kids have grown and life has gotten more spread out, it's become challenging to bring everyone together and this was such a "wonderful family experience"  (That totally made my day btw.)

You'll also be seeing this lovely family on the Pine Lake Family Dentistry website soon -- but in the mean time...you will not want to miss our super awesome behind the scenes video that we posted on our Facebook  (the music is a little George Jefferson meets Bruno Mars don't you think?)

Modern Family Portraits | Portrait Studio near Bellevue WA

Great Professional Family Pictures_Studio B PortraitsGreat Professional Family Pictures_Studio B Portraits_Stohler_0239Great Professional Family Pictures_Studio B Portraits_Stohler_0240 I love photographing families -- love it!  Sometimes...it's only me and the Mom that are pumped up in the beginning...but by the end -- 99% of the rest of the family comes to the "This didn't suck" Surprise Party ;-)  Heehee.  What...are you shocked??? It's so true!  A couple of years ago, I was almost ready to change our tag line from "You on Your Best Day" to..."Your Family won't think it was as horrible as they originally thought" -- but frankly -- that was a bit wordy for a bumper sticker so we just stuck with what we had!  The Stohler Family brought a fresh and modern spin on the classics that just looks fantastic for our studio photo shoot.  I just adore their upscale casual look with the brothers in button down pattern shirts, Dad in a sports coat and...the girls...let's just pause and check out the ladies in their super sweet lace, denim and chocolate boots!  Not to be outdone...Pug, Pasha Spice she went with "vintage fur" for our sneak peeks here but let's be honest -- all eyes on her right?

Child Modeling Headshots | Tips and Tricks for Great Styling | Issaquah Portrait Studio

Best childrens photographer_4 year old blonde in modern glitter dressBest childrens photographer_4 year old blonde in modern striped black and white dress So what a little cutie pie Miss Presley is in her awesome ensembles!  Modeling two different looks for her photo shoot, you won't be surprised to hear that this sweet six year old will be vamping for the camera professionally quite soon.  Child models are REALLY fun for me on any day of the week...but I particularly enjoy this age because the kids are absolutely aware of what we're doing.  These babes "get" that we are "having a photo shoot" and it's fun...we dress up, spin on the chair,  play with the fan and most of all...it's ALL about them!  For parents interested in potentially having your kids consider modeling with an agency I'll just quickly point out two of the major "DO's" of head shots for your kids.  DO look through kids catalogs and retailers for inspiration!  You can't go wrong with Mini Boden, Tea and Peek Kids for keeping the look colorful & current. Have fun with the styling and DO keep it nice and comfortable so that your babe is focused on having a great time...not tugging on their clothes.

Guess who wanted to be giddy like a school girl when she saw this MOST amazing family wall portrait design?  (My two thumbs are pointing right back at me with a big old grin on my face...because...YEP, it's me!)  I first introduced this lovely family when I photographed their formal family portraits this past December and we had so many amazing images, I just knew that the design possibilities were unlimited.  Since a BIG part of what we do for our clients is helping them enjoy the images through design and decorating -- the plan became to showcase the "favorites of favorites" on the main wall of the formal living room, sprinkle smaller prints throughout the home and bind all of the session portraits into a custom designed album for the coffee table.   I know there is a lot to look at in the images above so I'll just walk through starting from the top.  The formal sitting room features an eight piece Giclee Canvas Series -- the largest piece is 40 inches and we used that as the visual anchor to the surrounding accent portraits.  Each of the pieces is custom framed in  warm golden Artisan moldings - we selected three different frame styles that we repeated at least once on the wall-- doing so gave us visual continuity without being matchy matchy.   Now...on to the coffee table, that's our Artisan Book -- this is a 20 page custom designed book featuring the "best of the rest" of the portrait session images and answers the question of "how can I have it all"  We design these books to be storytelling in nature...multiple images per spread that bring back great memories from the session.  Mom Lilia loves the lux look of metallic so we created the entire book with a metallic cover and metallic prints.  And finally, moving to the foyer...for the smaller gift prints in the house we also created these on metallic paper and I just adore, the eclectic mix of Henredon frames -- such a great finishing touch.

Best Family Portraits featuring the Gomez Family | Studio B in Issaquah near Seattle

Studio-B-Portraits-great-picture-of-a-Mexican-married-couple-laughing-near-SeattleStudio-B-Portraits-great-family-pictures-of-three-brothers-near-SeattleStudio-B-Portraits-great-family-pictures-near-Seattle_Gomez__0928 Loved photographing the Gomez Family (I first met oldest son Joav when I photographed his senior pictures) and I have NEVER in my whole life wished that I paid more attention during my three years of high school Spanish than during this shoot. Why? I mean, everybody spoke English (duh) but when the family was chatting in Spanish it hit me that it was like a metaphorical double dutch rope...I simply could not jump  in :-)  (Sadly, my bilingual proficiency is limited to locating the restroom and ordering my quesadilla at Las Margaritas on Front Street.)  Anyway...now that I've gone off on some silly side bar, let me bring it back to the Gomez Family!  We had a pleasant Seattle day that was not covered in sideways rain and wind so we took advantage of shooting outside.  These three boys were SO charming and polite -- I can only hope to raise my new baby boy to be so well mannered!  OH and -- BIG shout out to our Studio B make-up artist Tiffany for Mama's gorgeous camera ready make-up!

Family Portrait Session featuring the Sullivan's | Issaquah Portrait Studio near Bellevue WA

Studio-B-Portraits_Best-Family-Pictures-SeattleStudio-B-Portraits_Best-Family-Pictures-SeattleStudio-B-Portraits_Best-Family-Pictures-Seattle Two things struck me as I met the Sullivan Family -- the first was that I instantly realized that I was completely vertically challenged as compared to this extremely statuesque family of four.  Seriously, I know you can't tell from this set of portraits but HOLY SMOKES...this group makes quite an impressive entrance. (I'm 5'7 myself so for me to spend the entire session looking up or standing on a stool is honestly saying something!)  My second item of notation is that the family was so comfortable in front of the camera that I was shocked to learn that it had been 17 years since their last family portrait session -- that is not a typo...I said "17" years.  Wow, talk about naturals...clearly it all came back to them quickly (either that...or they really do like each other ;-) )  We also posted another favorite from their family photo shoot on our Facebook page here.
